Goodbye, year of the dragon, welcome in, year off the snake! Best wishes to all readers for a satisfying, peaceful 2013.

Living in Japan means there is a certain way to spend the 31st. This includes house cleaning, preparation of special foods, and spending the evening with family if possible. I broke the rule by going cycling in the morning. Holidays a great for riding in Tokyo. All of those wide, car-free streets just waiting for riders – who could resist? Of course, no one can completely shirk the new year cleaning, and I did my duty after returning home. I continue to follow the rules by playing games, watching silly TV, and just lazing around. I imagine you are doing the same.

さよなら、辰年、ようこそ、巳年！

海外と違って、大晦日と元日の過ごし方はだいたい決まっています、ね。家の大掃除、特別料理の準備、そして、家族とゲームをしたり、テレビを見たりします。告白します：今朝（31日）ルールを破りました。朝からサイクリングへ出かけました。東京都内の交通量の少ない大晦日と元日は行かないわけにはいかないでしょう。やはり、大手町周辺は面白かったです。そして、昨日届いたiPhone用魚眼レンズを持って行ったので、さらに楽しかったです。帰宅してからはもちろん風呂場のカビと戦ったし、ちゃんとショウ（小）掃除しました、よ。（反省しながら？）今家族とゲームアンドテレビを楽しんでいます。皆様のお正月がよい時であるように願っています。
